Dr. Trepp attended undergraduate college at the University of Maryland, College Park, MD, and graduated with a BS degree in Zoology (the biology of animals). He moved to Baltimore, entered the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, University of Maryland, and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Then he traveled to Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City and entered a coveted, one year General Practice Residency. During his year at Beth Israel Medical Center, Dr. Trepp realized that he enjoyed creating beautiful smiles for his patients using orthodontics. He returned to the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery and completed two years of additional full time training as a resident in the Department of Orthodontics. This orthodontic residency included genetics, embryology, human growth, biophysics and teaching orthodontics to dental students in their labs and clinics. His residency concluded with the awarding of his Certificate In Orthodontics. The Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners recognized Dr. Trepp as a Licensed Orthodontic Specialist. Less than 150 dentists in the State of Maryland hold that distinction and only about 6% of US dentists have the additional education required to be licensed and recognized as an orthodontic specialist.

Dr. Trepp began his association with Allentown Family Dental Center, Clinton, MD, before opening his orthodontic office in Pasadena, MD. He relocated his Pasadena office to Severna Park, in December 2008.  Dr. Trepp became the first orthodontist in the county to install dry heat sterilization of instruments to protect the well being of his patients.  Computer digital imaging of patient concerns allows patients to benefit from instant retrieval of x-rays anywhere in the office. Dr. Trepp offers Clear Aligner Therapy using ClearCorrect, Invisalign and Invisalign teen. Clear Aligner Therapy allows some types of adult and teen tooth straightening without braces. Dr. Trepp also offers the new braces technology called self-ligating braces, and is certified in iBraces which are braces placed on the back of your teeth. Isn't science and technology wonderful?

Dr. Trepp became a leader in Internet communication when he launched his website orthodontics.org, followed by his newer site AnneArundelOrthodontics.com. Dr. Trepp’s social media presence includes his Smile Designer Blog,  facebook, twitter, myspace, LinkedIn and YouTube channel to increase patient interaction. Dr. Trepp has studied advanced first aid and is certified as a Maryland First Responder and a First Responder Pennsylvania Department of Health.  Dr. Trepp joined the adjunct faculty of Anne Arundel Community College in the Summer of 2009 teaching Dental Assisting and Dental Radiology.  In March 2010, Dr. Trepp began teaching first state recognized Expanded Functions: Chairside and Orthodontic course in Anne Arundel County for the Community College. This web enabled course allows students to take advantage of the Community College's Virtual Campus with distance E-learning online resources.

Dr. Trepp is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists,  Manhattan Beach Civic Association, the Magothy River Association, the Severna Park Chamber of Commerce, the National Ski Patrol and the Sons of the American Legion, Post 175, Severna Park, MD.

Dr. Trepp and his wife, Joanne, and their dog, Raven, live within 10 minutes of his Severna Park office allowing participation in Severna Park community  activities and availability for afterhours care. Joanne Trepp is the staff development coordinator of Anne Arundel County Public Library. Family interests include cross country skiing, alpine skiing, golf, snow boarding, fishing, rollerblading, wake boarding, computers, hiking, biking, oyster growing, gardening, boating and celebrating life.

Because high quality patient care is the hallmark of his office, Dr. Trepp invests several weeks every year in continuing education courses. By doing so, his patient care will remain "state of the art". Readers of Chesapeake Family Magazine nominated Dr. Trepp as one of their 2011 Favorite Docs.
