
Dr. Trepp attended college at the University of Maryland, College Park, MD, where he graduated in 1971 with a BS degree in Zoology (the biology of animals). In 1971, he moved to Baltimore and entered the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, University of Maryland, Baltimore City, MD. After receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1975, he traveled to Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City where he entered a coveted, one year General Practice Residency. During his year at Beth Israel Medical Center, Dr. Trepp realized that he enjoyed creating beautiful smiles using orthodontics. He returned to the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery in 1976 and completed two years of additional full time training as a resident in the Department of Orthodontics. This orthodontic residency included genetics, embryology, human growth, biophysics and teaching orthodontics to dental students in their labs and clinics. He was awarded his Certificate In Orthodontics in 1978.
Dr. Trepp began his association with Allentown Family Dental Center, Clinton, MD, in 1982, before opening his orthodontic office in Pasadena, MD, in February 1984. His Pasadena office incorporates the best design and technological features available. In 1985, the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners recognized Dr. Trepp as a Licensed Orthodontic Specialist. Less than 150 dentists in the State of Maryland hold that distinction. Early in 1990, Dr. Trepp became the first orthodontist in the county to install dry heat sterilization of instruments to improve protection of his patients. Dr. Trepp became a leader in patient Internet communication when he launched his web site www.orthodontics.org in 1996. Computer digital imaging of patient concerns began in 1999 and allows instant retrieval of x-rays anywhere in the office. In May 2000, Dr. Trepp became Certified in the latest 3-D computer technology called Invisalign that allows some adult and teen tooth straightening without braces. Isn't science and technology wonderful? Dr. Trepp began offering newest braces technology, self-ligating braces, in July 2006. Dr. Trepp created a blog for his patients to post comments at www.orthodontist.vox.com in March 2007. Dr. Trepp studied advanced first aid in 2008 and is certified as a National Ski Patrol Outdoor Emergency Care Technician, a Maryland First Responder and a First Responder Pennsylvania Department of Health. He and his assistants now celebrate over 25 years of caring for patients in Clinton and 23 years in Pasadena/Severna Park.
Dr. Trepp is a member of the American Dental Association, the Maryland State Dental Association and the Anne Arundel County Dental Society. He is also a member of the Manhattan Beach Civic Association, the Magothy River Association, the Severna Park Chamber of Commerce, the National Ski Patrol and the Sons of the American Legion, Post 175, Severna Park, MD.
Dr. Trepp and his wife, Joanne, and their dog, Raven, live in Severna Park, only 15 minutes from his Pasadena office so that he can participate in Pasadena and Severna Park community activities and be available to his patients who might have an after hours emergency. Joanne Trepp is the staff development coordinator of Anne Arundel County Public Library. Family interests include fishing, wake boarding, computers, hiking, biking, oyster growing, gardening, boating of any kind and community volunteering.
Because high quality treatment is the hallmark of his office, Dr. Trepp spends several weeks every year in continuing education courses. By doing so, his patient care will remain "state of the art".
