On our reception desk facing the reception area, we have a computer checkin station. The checkin screen displays a list of all patients expected today. Patients are asked to go to this checkin computer upon arrival and use the mouse to highlight their name. Their picture will appear on the screen along with a description of what treatment is planned for today. The screen also contains a drop down menu where patients can choose the color(s) that they want us to place on their braces if a wire change is planned. Sample colors are found adjacent to the computer screen. When a patient has reviewed their care information and choices, they use the mouse to click yes/ok. Their presence and choices immediately appear on the computer screen in the treatment area for the clinical team's notification. If your not a computer whiz, don't worry.
